Sig Byrd (1909-1987) was a newspaper
columnist for the old Houston Press
and the Houston Chronicle. His column
for the Press was called “The
Stroller.” Some of these columns were collected in the book Sig Byrd’s Houston (1955), which is, alas, long out of print.
